When Jasper (Jim Dale), founder of the western town of Bloodshy, dies, his twin sons face off to decide who will inherit his legacy. Billy (also Dale) is a wild gunslinger, while Eli (also Dale) is a mild-mannered, religious type. To decide the town's rightful successor, the brothers duel each other in a series of oddball competitions that culminate in a zany train race. But the real battle begins when Billy and Eli try to wrest control from Bloodshy's crooked mayor, Ragsdale (Darren McGavin).

Damien A Not seen this film since I was a young child (it was one of my favourites) and think it's a very under rated for a old film. The comedy was funny, original and better than a lot of film that cost more today. I thought Jim Dale was Amazing as all three Bloodshys and had a great supporting cast. I fully enjoyed watching Hot lead and Cold Feet after all these years. It would have been a three star if so many Modern Comedy Films weren't worse than this Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Rocky T Grew up watching this movie. Still love it today. Jim Dale playing 3 such different characters always cracks me up. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/22/23 Full Review r 9 Enjoyable.'Hot Lead & Cold Feet' is good fun. The premise is bonkers but in a positive way, while the humour is much improved on what Disney usually produce in these sorta films. I actually liked every bit of the story, even if it is a tad all over the place. The only real issues I have with this are the effects and some of the pacing, the latter is quite slow around the midway mark.Moving onto the cast. Jim Dale does a great job playing not one, not two but three characters! It's actually rather impressive, though the effects used for when Billy and Eli are 'next to each other' are rather poor. Still, big credit to Dale. The film is basically split into three viewpoints: Billy & Eli, Jasper (Dale) & Mansfield (John Williams) and Sheriff (Don Knotts) & Rattlesnake (Jack Elam). Surprisingly, they make it work. I liked following all the shenanigans that they each got up to.I also rate the music used. All in all, an entertaining film that I would definitely recommend. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This was just a fun little feel good movie. I'm pretty sure as a child I would've been bored by everything but the existence of twins, and in fairness things like the romance among people who were barely in each other's presence feel like thrown together after thoughts, but for a lazy morning where it's chilly outside and cozy inside with a mug of soup and a couple of snuggly cats this small adventure where human goodness triumphs was just about the perfect thing to go with it. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/25/18 Full Review Audience Member another Disney family western Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member With hilariously goofy performances from Don Knotts, and Jim Dale in three distinct roles, Hot Lead and Cold Feet, while slight, is one of the better Disney comedies of the 1970's.
